The Martin City Council setting as a Board of Equalization met in City Office at 101 Main Street on March 24, 2017 at 5:30 p.m.

Mayor Gary Rayhill called the meeting to order with Council Members Cecilia Moffitt, Stephanie Noel, Gregg Claussen and School Board Member Mike Olson, present. Absent, Shirley McCue, Chuck Gotheridge and Walter York.

Others present, Finance Officer Jean Kirk.

Board of Equalization: The board met to review the tax assessment property book. As there were no residents present with any objection a motion was entered by Moffitt and seconded by Claussen to certify the accuracy of the 2017 tax assessment role. All voting aye, motion carried.

As there were no grievances a motion to adjourn the Board of Equalization meeting was entered by Noel and seconded by Moffitt. All voting aye, motion carried.

Mayor Gary Rayhill called the City Council meeting to order.

Council Member Shirley McCue joined the meeting by phone.

Approval of Agenda: Moffitt moved to approve the agenda and seconded by Noel. All voting aye, motion carried.

Martin Volunteer Fire Department: McCue moved to add Ray Big Crow, Jason Bustin, Erika Coonrod, Ray Vigil and Frankie York to the Martin Volunteer Fire Department. Noel seconded the motion. All voting aye, motion carried.

Donations: Noel moved to donate $100 dollars to the Post Prom Party and $50 to Bennett County Nursing Home for their Easter egg hunt out of BBB Funds. Moffitt seconded the motion. All voting aye, motion carried.

Christmas Decorations: Noel moved to purchase 4 new snowflake decorations for Main Street this year and next year buy 4 more to be paid out of BBB Funds. Moffitt seconded the motion. All voting aye, motion carried. 

Building Permit: Noel moved to extend Janeen Jackson’s building permit for a privacy fence at 103 3rd Ave to the end of May. Claussen seconded the motion. All voting aye, motion carried.

As there was no further business or tax assessment grievances to come before the Council at this time, a motion was entered by Noel to adjourn the meeting.
