Henrietta Marie Tobacco-Cross Dog, 72, of Pine Ridge, S.D., passed away May 10, 2017, in Rapid City.
Henrietta Marie Tobacco-Cross Dog was born on April 26, 1945, in Pine Ridge, to Vincent Tobacco and Irene (Wounded) Tobacco. Henrietta made her journey to the Spirit World on May 10, 2017, at the Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City.
Henrietta is survived by her spouse, Linn Cross Dog, Calico; sons, Linn Cross Dog, Jr. and Cory Tobacco both of Calico; daughters, Linnetta Cross Dog, Mona Cross Dog, and Sue Ann Cross Dog all of Calico; brothers, Harold Tobacco, Calico; sisters, Regina Tobacco and Karen Tobacco both of Calico; 18 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Henrietta was preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Irene Tobacco; brothers, Calvin Tobacco, Vincent Tobacco, Jr., and Dugan Tobacco; and sister, Bernadette Tobacco.
A one night wake service started at 12:00 p.m., Sunday, May 14, at the Red Cloud School Small Gymnasium, Pine Ridge.
Funeral services began at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 15, at the Red Cloud School Small Gymnasium, Pine Ridge, with Father Peter Klink, S.J. and Sister Barb Bogenschutz officiating and Mr. Sam Long performing the traditional Lakota service.
Burial services were held at the Cross Dog Family Cemetery in Calico.
