Alice Hilda (Garnette) Camargo, 66, of Lincoln, Neb. passed away May 6, 2017, in Lincoln.
Alice Hilda Garnette-Camargo was born on August 1, 1950, in Belle Fourche, S.D. to Charles, Jr. and Eloise (Ruff) Garnette. Alice made her journey to the Spirit World on May 6, 2017 in Lincoln.
Alice is survived by her spouse, Jose Camargo, Lincoln; sons, Robert Conroy, Rapid City, Eston Conroy, Alliance, Valentino Garnette, Gordon, Travis Garnette and Hijinio Garnette both of Lincoln; daughters, Delilah Conroy and LaTanya Conroy both of Alliance, Charlotte Garnette and Marianna Garnette both of Lincoln; sisters, Ramona Ashmore, Salt Lake City, Utah, Jackie Hernandez, Gordon, Phyllis Little Moon, Wounded Knee, and Elvira Mosqueda, Fort Morgan, Colo.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Charles, Jr. and Eloise (Ruff) Garnette; daughter, Michaela Camargo; brothers, Renzol Palmier, Donald Garnette, Marvin Garnette, Harlan Garnette, Francis Garnette, and Carl Garnette; and sisters, Myrnette Janis, Charlotte Conroy, and Arthureen Tamayo.
A two night wake service started at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, May 11, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Hall in Kyle.
Funeral services began at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 13, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Hall in Kyle, with Father Rick Abert, S.J. officiating and Wakiyan Sna Mani, Sr. and Mr. Jay Garnette performing the traditional Lakota service.
Burial services were held at St. Stephen’s Catholic Cemetery in Kyle.
