Leroy Elmer Ghost, Sr., 72, of Yankton, S.D., passed away June 29, 2017, in Yankton.
Leroy Elmer Ghost, Sr. was born on August 15, 1944, in Pine Ridge, to Curtis Henry Ghost, Sr. and Amelia (Lakota) Ghost. Leroy entered the Spirit World on June 29, 2017 in Yankton.
Leroy is survived by his children, Jody Lee Ghost, Verlyn “Shane” Ghost, Alvin Ghost, Leroy Ghost, Jr. and Angelita Ghost, all of Pine Ridge, Donovan Good Shield, Wounded Knee, and Tuesday Good Shield, Evergreen; brother, Burgess “Jumbo” Ghost, Rapid City; sisters, Gloria (Ghost) Randall, Kyle, and Virginia Ghost, Wounded Knee; numerous half brothers and half sisters; and 11 grandchildren.
Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis H. Ghost, Sr. and Amelia (Lakota) Ghost; daughter, Charla Marie Ghost; and grandparents, Frank Ghost and Julie (Jones) Ghost.
A one night wake service started at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 5, at the St. Agnes Catholic Church Hall in Manderson.
Funeral services began at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, July 6, at the St. Agnes Catholic Church Hall in Manderson, with Ms. Judy Miller officiating.
Burial services were held at the St. Phillip’s Episcopal Cemetery in Manderson.
