William James Poor Bear, Jr., 46, of Seattle, Wash. passed away September 9, 2017, in Seattle.
He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps.
William James Poor Bear, Jr. was born on March 9, 1971, in Pine Ridge, S.D. to William Poor Bear, Sr. and Doris Shots. William, Jr. passed away on September 9, 2017 at his home in Seattle.
William is survived by his uncles, Neil Poor Bear, Sioux Falls, and Reginald White Elk, Madras, Ore.; aunt, Marilyn Pourier, Hay Springs, Neb.; cousin, Greta White Elk, Kyle; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
William was preceded in death by his parents, William Poor Bear, Sr. and Doris Shots; and sister, Candace Poor Bear.
A one night wake service started at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, September 28, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Hall in Kyle.
Funeral services began at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 29, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Hall in Kyle, with Father Ron Seminara, S.J., officiating and Mr. Merle Whistler performing the traditional Lakota service.
Burial services were held at the St. Stephen’s Catholic Cemetery in Kyle.
