Edward Jesse Eagle Elk, Sr., 80, of Evergreen, S.D., passed away October 3, 2017, in Pine Ridge.
Edward Jesse Eagle Elk was born on April 16, 1937 in Rosebud, to Ernest and Bessie (Running Horse) Eagle Elk. Edward made his journey to the Spirit World on October 3, 2017 at the Pine Ridge I.H.S. Hospital in Pine Ridge.
Edward is survived by his wife, Lorraine Eagle Elk, Evergreen; sons, Roger Eagle Elk, Mitchell, Leo Eagle Elk and Ricky Eagle Elk both of Rosebud, and Edward Eagle Elk, Jr., Winner; daughter, Regina Eagle Elk, Rosebud; step-children, Florence Benson, Lori Cuny, Renita Yellow Boy, and Richard Yellow Boy all of Porcupine; sister, Marie Brings, Okla.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Bessie Eagle Elk; daughters, Remina Eagle Elk, Arimina Eagle Elk, and Ernestine Eagle Elk; brother, Wilford Eagle Elk; and sister, Julia Eagle Elk.
A one night wake service will be held at 10:00 a.m., CT, Friday, October 13, at the Upper Cut Meat Community Hall.
Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 14, at the Upper Cut Meat Community Hall with Kirk Fool Bull and Wilford Moses officiating.
Burial services will be held at the Star Cemetery in St. Francis.
