Kenneth Johnson Standing Soldier, 59, of Oglala, S.D., passed away October 30, 2017, in Oglala.
Kenneth Johnson Standing Soldier was born on September 14, 1958, in Pine Ridge, to Donald Bordeaux and Florence Rose Standing Soldier. Kenneth made his journey to the Spirit World on October 30, at his home in Oglala.
Kenneth is survived by his spouse, Trivian Roan Eagle, Oglala; step-son, John Stoldt, Oglala; step-daughter, Whitney Roan Eagle, Oglala; brothers, Ivan Standing Soldier and Donald Standing Soldier both of Pine Ridge; Alon Standing Soldier, Darrell Standing Soldier, Charlie Standing Soldier, and Walter Standing Soldier all of Wolf Creek; sisters, Gayla Ten Fingers, Gina Morrison, Josephine Standing Soldier, and Joy Standing Soldier all of Pine Ridge, Bonita Ghost Dog, Wanblee, and Brenda New Holy, Wolf Creek; and grandchildren, Nehemiah, Mya, and Trinity Top Bear all of Oglala.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Bordeaux and Florence Rose Standing Soldier.
A two night wake service was held with the first night at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, November 2, at the Re-Creation Center in Oglala, and the second night at 4:00 p.m., Friday, November 3, at the Wolf Creek School Gym.
Funeral services began at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 4, at the Wolf Creek School Gym with Pastor Charity Hill and Pastor Elton Yellow Boy officiating.
Burial services were held at the St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery in Pine Ridge.
