Hakeka Luzan Sna Mani “Wapa Ho Waste’”, 34, of Porcupine, S.D., passed away October 31, 2017, in Porcupine.
Hekeka Luzan Sna Mani was born on March 22, 1983, in Pine Ridge, to Michael Little Boy, Sr. and Rita J. Iron Rope. He Ka Ka Luzan Sna Mani made his journey to the Spirit World on October 31, 2017 in Porcupine.
Hekeka is survived by his father, Wakinyan Sna Mani, Sr., Porcupine; brothers, Wohkage Sna Mani, Wakinyan Sna Mani II, and Wambli Sna Mani all of Porcupine, sisters, Shena Sna Mani-Kills Back, Monica Sna Mani, and Angelique Sna Mani all of Porcupine; and children, Ricco Sna Mani, Edwin Oliver Sna Mani, and Pejuta Sna Mani all of Rosebud, and Kobe Steele, Pine Ridge.
Hekeka was preceded in death by his mother, Rita Jane Iron Rope.
A two night wake service was held with the first night at 10:00 a.m., Sunday, November 5, at the Porcupine School Gym in Porcupine, and the second night at 6:00 p.m., Monday, November 6, at the Little Boy Sundance Grounds three Miles East of the Porcupine Store, near Porcupine.
Funeral services began at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 7, at the Little Boy Sundance Grounds three Miles East of the Porcupine Store, near Porcupine. Native American Church Services were performed by Sandor Iron Rope, Kirk Fool Bull, and Paul Never Misses A Shot. Traditional Lakota Services were held by Chief Leonard Crow Dog, Sr., Chief Steve DuBray, Sr., and Chief Henry Howell.
Burial services were held at the Sna Mani Family Cemetery near Porcupine.
