Larry Leon Jumping Eagle “Sung’Wa ‘Togla” , 48, of Manderson, S.D., passed away November 10, 2017, in Manderson.
Larry Leon Jumping Eagle was born on August 29, 1969, in Pine Ridge, to Robert Edward Jumping Eagle and Rebecca Catherine (Looks Twice) Jumping Eagle. Larry passed away on November 10, 201,7 at his home in Manderson.
Larry is survived by his children, Cassie Red Cloud and Dillon Knight, both of Manderson; siblings, Roberta Spencer, Audrey Jumping Eagle, Starlette Jumping Eagle, Delores Jumping Eagle, Georgia Jumping Eagle, Phillip Jumping Eagle, William Jumping Eagle, Robert Wayne Jumping Eagle and Robert Joseph Jumping Eagle, all of Manderson.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Rebecca Jumping Eagle; siblings, Henry Jumping Eagle, Elizabeth Jumping Eagle and Leonard Means; paternal grandparents, Oliver and Mamie (Rocky Bear) Jumping Eagle; maternal grandparents, William and Lucy (Spider) Looks Twice.
A two night wake service will start at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, November 16, at the Wounded Knee District School in Manderson.
Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, November 18, at the Wounded Knee District School in Manderson, with Father Christopher Johnson, S.J. officiating and Mr. Francis “Chubbs” Thunder Hawk, Sr. performing the traditional Lakota service.
Burial services will be held at the Jumping Eagle Family Cemetery in Manderson.
