Lily Mae Red Eagle “Punkeska Ali Win” “Wanbli Sa Akicita Win”, 96, of Kyle, S.D., passed away December 17, 2017, in Kyle.
She was a veteran of the US Army.
Lily Mae Red Eagle was born on May 4, 1921, in Pine Ridge, to Jacob and Susie (Brown Eyes) White Eyes. Lily Mae made her journey to the Spirit World on December 17, 2017 at her home in Kyle.
Lily Mae is survived by her children, Janice One Feather, Jonathan One Feather and Cheryl One Feather, all of Kyle; adopted daughters, Sterline Rooks-Jealous of Him, Porcupine, and Melanie Janis, Kyle; five grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Lily Mae was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Susie White Eyes; siblings, Jacob, Margaret, Jacob, Myrtle, and Martha White Eyes, Mildred Hernandez-Young and Christina Iron Cloud; grandchildren, Paula Susie Mae, Paula Mae Spider and Britni Spider; great-grandchildren, Keona and James “Jimmy”; and ex-husband, Enoch “Paul” One Feather.
A two night wake service started at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 26, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Hall in Kyle.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 28, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Hall in Kyle, with Rev. Cordelia Red Owl and Lay Reader Anthony Wounded Head officiating and Leola One Feather and Kenny Farmer performing the traditional Lakota services.
Burial services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, December 28, at the Lakota Freedom Veteran’s Cemetery, Kyle.
