Marlene Mae Locke, 62, of Porcupine, S.D., passed away March 30, 2018, in Sioux Falls.
Marlene Mae Locke was born on November 20, 1955, in Rapid City, to Wilbur Locke and Frances (Short Horn) Locke. Marlene made her journey to the Spirit World on March 30, 2018, at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls.
Marlene is survived by her daughter, Tonia Renite Locke, Porcupine; grandchildren, Adan Estrada, Ore., Waniyetu Locke, Canada and Teresa and Wyatt Graham, both of Kyle; and siblings, Norma Moose, Cecelia Locke, William Locke, Carol Peneaux and Sandra Locke, all of Porcupine, Geraldine Locke, Winifred Locke and Olivia Locke, all of Sisseton.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Frances Locke; brother, Thomas Locke, Sr.; and grandparents, Frank and Sadie (Janis) Short Horn, James Locke and Hail Good Pipe.
A two night wake service started at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 7, at the Elderly Meals Building in Porcupine, with evening services at 7:00 p.m. each night of the wake.
Funeral services began at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 9, at the Porcupine Elderly Meals Building in Porcupine, with Father Ed Hunt, Pastor Matt Hadden, Pastor Albert Sutton and Sr. Catechist Ben Conquering Bear officiating. Mr. Sidney Has No Horse performed the traditional Lakota service.
Burial services were held at the St. Julia’s Episcopal Cemetery, Porcupine.
