Gino Thomas Curry “Wicakiza Ohiya”, 56, of Allen, S.D., passed away May 1, 2018, in Allen.
Gino Thomas Curry “Wicakiza Ohiya” was born on November 28, 1961, in Pine Ridge, to Albert Curry, Sr. and Beatrice (Tallman) Curry. Gino made his journey to the Spirit World on May 1, 2018, in Allen.
Gino is survived by his sons, Jeremy Amiotte, Guam, and Ozzie Morrie, Chicago, Ill.; brothers, Albert Curry, Jr., Kyle, Elmer Fire Thunder, N.C., Abraham Curry and William Curry, both of Cheyenne, Wyo.; sisters, Faith Richards, Allen, Devona Lone Wolf, Martin, Tanya Priesthy, Newark, Del., Wilma Colhoff, Pine Ridge, and Mari Curry, Las Vegas, Nev.; granddaughter, Mina Moore; and special friend, Loretta Jean Gunhammer Dillon.
Gino was preceded in death by his mother, Beatrice (Tallman) Curry; father, Albert Curry, Sr.; brother, Jeffrey Curry, Sr.; sister, Waunita Lone Wolf; son, Arlan Bissonette; nieces, Shelli Poor Bear and Chanta-Annie Colhoff; and nephews, Moses Red Bear, Malcolm DuBray, and Jeffrey Curry, Jr.
A one night wake service started at 3:00 p.m., Friday, May 4, at the Youth Opportunity Center in Allen.
Funeral services began at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, May 5, at the Pass Creek Youth Opportunity Center in Allen, with Reverend Rhoda Mesteth officiating and Mr. Mike Cross, Sr. performed the traditional Lakota services.
Burial services were held at the Inestimable Gift Cemetery, Allen.
