Warrior boys fall victim of hot shooting Falcons

Todd County’s Aiden Bizarde started hot and didn’t cool down much as he torched the nets for 41 points against the Bennett County Warriors Saturday in Martin, leading the visiting Falcons to a 76-54 win. Bizarde made 9 three pointers on the night and Todd County made 16 as a team.

Bennett County played well and led most of the first half after trailing 5-2 early. The Warriors ran off seven straight points, keyed by Junior DeAndre Cottier’s five straight points.

Bennett County went up  18-13 after one quarter and led 24-20 in the second when Todd County took off on a 12-2 run to go up 32-26 and finished off a 29-4 run to end the half up 49-32.

The Warriors took the ball inside to DeAndre Cottier and he was nearly unstoppable, scoring 11 third quarter points. Tristan Whirlwind Horse also had a solid quarter with 5 points for Bennett County, but Todd County led 66-50.

The Warriors could not find the nets in the fourth and put in just four final quarter points, losing 76-54.

Bennett County scoring:

DeAndre Cottier 25, Tristan Whirlwind Horse 19, Tate Risse 7, Riley Mesteth 3.

Todd County won the JV game 57-32.

Bennett Co scoring: Tommy Fly 8, Mahpeya Richards 7, Nick Dubray 5, Taatae Standing Bear 4, Maurico Curry 2, Jacoby Heathershaw 2, Charles Cottier 2, Coby Mosher 2.

The boys next game is the double header in Gordon Dec. 15.

On Dec. 8, the boys lost to Stanley County 50-37. No game stats available.
