The Bennett County Lady Warriors picked up their first win of the season with a 48-40 win over Hay Springs Jan. 2 in Martin, led by Lexi Bair’s 17 points and Rachel Ireland’s 9.
The Lady Warriors had to mount a rally to take the win, trailing 16-4 after one quarter and 25-13 at the half. After a good 19 point third quarter, they closed the gap to one at 33-32 in favor of the Lady Hawks. The host Warriors put up 16 fourth quarter point to just seven for Hay Springs for the 48-40 win.

In the JV game, eighth grader Stefonna Salomon tossed in 9 points for the Lady Warriors to lead them to a 23-16 win. Baily May and Tarryn Petrak added 4 points each and Shakyra Poor Thunder, Angie Winters and Pricilla Has No Horse all scored 2 points.
The Lady Warriors traveled to Hot Springs Jan. 4, falling 46-41 in a close game. Bennett County lost 52-29 to a Wall squad that has just one loss on the season, an overtime game to Philip.
They traveled to Kyle Tuesday night to play Little Wound and will host back to back games facing Stanley County on Jan. 11 and Winner Jan. 16.
