Volleyball team nets three wins

BCHS hosted the Kadoka Kougars Tuesday, September 25 in volleyball action. It felt like our Homecoming game, there was a big crowd and a lot of cheers. Each Warrior team supplied a win for the night.

The C Team lost the first game 19-25, but came back to win the next two 25-15, 15-9. Lizzy was 5/5 setting with one kill assist, 5/9 serving with one ace, 7/9 hitting with 6 kills, 6/7 receiving and had 12 digs. Mel was 2/2 hitting and had one dig. 

Kimberlee was 9/9 serving with one ace and 3/3 receiving. Angie was 19/20 setting with 13 kill assists, 2/6 serving with one ace, 9/10 hitting with 6 kills, 3/7 receiving and had 4 digs. Rachel Risse was 16/16 setting with 4 kill assists, 12/15 serving with 6 aces, 13/14 hitting with 6 kills, 3/7 receiving and had 4 digs. 

Miranda was 4/4 setting with 2 kill assists, 3/5 serving with one ace, 9/11 hitting with 5 kills, 6/7 receiving and had one dig. Shiori was 2/2 setting, 12/14 serving with 5 aces, 4/5 hitting with one kill, 4/5 receiving and had 6 digs.

After a shaky start, the JV settled down and played a comfortable, controlled game, winning 25-18, 25-14. Shiann was 4/8 hitting with one kill and had one solo block. Autumn was 21/24 setting with 3 kill assists, 4/6 hitting with one kill, 2/3 receiving and had 4 digs. 

Taylor was 10/10 hitting with 3 kills and had one assisted block. Cassy was 9/10 serving with 3 aces, 7/7 hitting with 2 kills, had on dig, one solo and one assisted block. Kimmy was 21/21 setting with 4 kill assists, 3/5 serving with one ace, 8/8 hitting with one kill, had one dig and one solo block. 

Roseanna was 6/7 serving with 3 aces, 6/10 hitting with one kill, 3/3 receiving and had 7 digs. Lindsay was 1/1 setting, 11/11 serving with 6 aces, 1/1 hitting, 10/11 receiving and had 11 digs. Carli was 1/2 serving with one ace, 1/1 hitting, 1/1 receiving and had one dig. Rachel was 4/5 serving with 3 aces, 3/3 receiving and had 2 digs. 

The Varsity made the first game look easy, winning 25-14. Then we stumbled in the second, 21-25, battled for the third 25-23, and finished 25-18. Taylor was 8/8 setting with 2 kill assists, 17/18 serving with 3 aces, 24/28 hitting with 8 kills, had 5 digs and 3 assisted blocks. 

Megan was 4/4 setting with one kill assist, 15/17 serving with 2 aces, 3/5 hitting, 29/33 receiving and had 21 digs. Also, Megan Slattery was awarded a t-shirt for sportsmanship at the Jones County game.

Lexie was 9/9 setting with 3 kill assists, 11/12 hitting with 3 kills, 1/1 receiving, had 2 digs, one solo and 4 assisted blocks. 

Maria was 40/41 setting with 12 kill assists, 11/12 serving, 4/4 hitting with 3 kills and had 6 digs. Tania was 3/3 setting, 7/9 serving with one ace, 47/53 hitting with 19 kills, 24/26 receiving, had 15 digs and one solo block. Tamee was 37/41 setting with 17 kill assists, 23/24 serving with 3 aces, 5/6 hitting with one kill, 3/3 receiving and had 4 digs. 

Bobbi was 15/15 setting with 6 kill assists, 9/9 hitting with 4 kills, 1/1 receiving, had 2 digs and had one solo block. Carli was 3/3 setting with one kill assists, 6/7 serving, 8/10 hitting with 4 kills and had 3 digs. Rachel was 4/4 setting with one kill assist, 4/4 serving, 2/4 hitting, 1/1 receiving, had 2 digs and 3 assisted blocks. Haley was 5/5 setting with one kill assist, 12/13 hitting with 3 kills and had 2 digs.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We will be doing various Dig Pink activities such as selling t-shirts and a cake raffle where the majority of funds raised will be donated to the fight against breast cancer. The Ladies have a string of home games coming up, including Oct. 4 vs. Gordon/Rushville, Oct. 8 vs. Cody/Kilgore, and Oct. 11 vs. Todd County.
