Risse’s purchase KJ’s Pit Stop, rename it Bros

By Tim Huether

Brothers Matthew and Keith Risse have purchased KJ’s Pit Stop in Martin from Kyle and Jill Turnwall, who purchased the store in 2002. The new name is Bros and they took over operation of the business Sept. 5.

Matthew and Keith said their focus will be on outstanding local service and they will be hands on at the store.

They will maintain mostly the same staff and have the same products and services. Currently they carry regular, unleaded, 10 percent ethanol fuel and number 2 diesel.

They will continue to carry hard liquor and beer with the City license recently renewed for another five years for the facility.

“We will be looking into upgrading the pumps and other improvements to make it appealing to the local customers,” said Keith.

“We appreciate all the support we have been getting already,” added Matthew. “People are already calling us up and saying they will be supporting us and we are very thankful for that.”

They will be planning a grand opening once they get all settled in as the new owners with an announcement to come later.

The store hours are: 5:30 a.m. - 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 5:30 a.m - 12 p.m. Friday; 6 a.m. - 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

They are located on Hwy 18 at 203 E. Bennett Ave. in Martin and the store phone number is 685-6022.
