Bring the whole family and plan on spending the day in Martin on the Fourth of July. Food and fun for the entire family will be found at the Martin City Park.
The Second Annual Coed Softball Tournament will begin Wednesday and will be going all day on Thursday.
A bouncy castle and obstacle course will be set up, starting at noon. This activity is not only for small children, adults are welcome to join in on the fun.
The Martin Volunteer Fire Department will be having the dunk tank as well as a 3-man water fight tournament beginning at 3:30 p.m.
Food booths will begin setting up at noon and continue throughout the day. Some items on the menu include: Betty Linenbrink with her famous roast beef sandwiches, pies and coffee; the Knights of Columbus will be serving up burgers and brats; and Summer Bustin will be selling her Philly Cheese Steak Sandwiches. On the sweeter side, the Bennett County Student Council will have cotton candy and lemonade, and the Bennett County FFA will be selling their Brand Napkins along with water and freezies.
The Martin Community Heritage Center will be open from 4 - 7 p.m., so take the family down and take in some Bennett County history.
Take in the Fireworks Display at dusk put on by the Martin Volunteer Fire Department and the City of Martin.
Please remember to drive carefully around the park, especially after the fireworks display.
Enjoy a safe and Happy Independence Day!
