Healthy Hometown Master Planning Session, February 21

You are invited! A Healthy Hometown Master Planning Session will be held Friday, February 21, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., in the Library Community Room.

Martin Wellness Coalition formed in 2016 as part of SDSU Extension’s Healthy Food, Families & Communities project, which provides facilitation to groups throughout South Dakota to increase health opportunities.

This year the Coalition hopes to join Healthy Hometown Powered by Wellmark, a free initiative open to South Dakota communities through Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Sheld.

This initiative is somewhat similar to SDSU’s but provides some additional resources. The first step in this process is to host a Master Planning Session. The goal of this meeting is to assemble a “steering committee” of local leaders that will assist the Coalition in identifying a vision and select health-related tactics to work on in the next year and beyond.

The steering committee will only meet two to four times per year, while the regular Coalition meets once per month. We hope you or a representative of your organization will join us.
