Martin, S.D. – According to Bennett County Sheriff Paul Williams as of Thursday, March 26 all but two of the nine women who escaped from the South Dakota Women’s Prison on Monday have been apprehended.
Of the seven women that are back in custody, one was taken into custody in Rapid City, three were captured by Crow Creek Tribal Law Enforcement and the other three were captured by Pierre Police Department and Hughes County Sheriffs Office.
According to Williams none of the escaped inmates made it to Bennett County that they are aware of.
