The Martin City Council met in special session on Thursday, July 18. Council members Gregg Claussen and Shirley McCue were absent.

Mayor Dave Bakley and the council agreed to have Street Manager Paul Noel continue the necessary drainage work at the west end of Pugh Street.

The birds have returned to the wilds of the Niobrara River since the fire one year ago south of Merriman, Neb.

Nursing Home receives funds for new whirlpool

The quality of life for Bennett County Nursing Home residents has been improved greatly because of a one-time payment from the State of South Dakota for fiscal year 2013.
