Sherry Ann Wounded Foot, 50, of Porcupine, S.D., passed away August 17, 2016, in Pine Ridge.

Sherry Wounded Foot was born on July 13, 1966, in Rapid City, to Jonas, Sr. and Florence (Tuttle) Wounded Foot. Sherry made her journey to the Spirit World on August 17, 2016, at the Pine Ridge I.H.S. Hospital in Pine Ridge.

Sherry is survived by her son, Logan Lafferty, Mission; godson, Martin Marvin Wounded Foot, Porcupine; daughters, Sandra Marie Graham, Porcupine, and Dawn Rose Dowty, Rapid City; brothers, Jonas Wounded Foot, Jr., Porcupine, and Martin Wounded Foot, Sioux Falls; and 13 grandchildren.

Sherry was preceded in death by her baby boy, Benjamin Hernandez, Jr., her beloved mother, Florence Tuttle; father, Jonas Wounded Foot, Sr.; sister, Sandra Wounded Foot; brothers, Sanford Alan Wounded Foot, Joe Wounded Foot, Patrick Tuttle, and Art Tuttle.

A two night wake service started at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 24, at the Father Pauly Hall in Porcupine.

Rosary services were held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 25, at the Fr. Pauly Hall in Porcupine.

Funeral services began at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 26, at the Father Pauly Hall in Porcupine, with Father Chris Johnson, S.J., officiating and Mr. Pat Ross and Mr. Greg Ross performing the traditional Lakota service.

Burial services were held at the St. Paul’s Catholic Cemetery in Porcupine.
