Vernel Thompson Brown Bull Jr., 45, of Potato Creek, S.D., passed away September 22, 2012, in Pine Ridge, SD

He was an Army veteran.

A two night wake service will be held starting at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 27, at the St. Henry’s Catholic Hall, Potato Creek.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 29, at the St. Henry’s Catholic Hall, Potato Creek, Reverend Robert Two Bulls, Reverend Emerson Spider Jr., and Reverend Kim Chandler officiating.

Burial will be at Native American Church Cemetery, Potato Creek.

Survivors include his wife, Arnell Brown Bull, Potato Creek; father, Vernal Brown Bull Sr., Red Water; children, Jerell Richards, Jade Brown Bull, Zady Brown Bull, and Vivian Brown Bull, all of Potato Creek; brother, Oliver Brown Bull Sr., Oglala; and sisters,  Genevieve Brown Bull and Sandra Janis, both of Kyle.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille (Two Bulls) Brown Bull; brothers, Timothy Brown Bull Sr., Alden Belt, and one infant baby brother.
