Donald Conrad Janis-Osborne, Sr. “Wanbli Gleska Kinajin”, 55, of Pine Ridge, S.D., passed away November 19, 2017, in Pine Ridge.
Donald Conrad Janis-Osborne, Sr. was born on March 16, 1962, in Pine Ridge, to Donald Raymond Osborne and Joyce Priscilla Janis. Donald passed away on November 19, 2017, at the I.H.S. Hospital in Pine Ridge.
Donald is survived by his children, Conrad Osborne, Caitlyn Little Whiteman and Wade Yellow Boy, all of Wakpamni, Donald, Jr., Priscilla, and Dawn Rose Janis-Osborne, all of Pine Ridge; stepchildren, Danelle Bagola and Herb Big Crow, both of Pine Ridge, Lloyd Big Crow, Rapid City, and Jeanette (Big Crow) Andrews, West Palm Beach, Fla.; hunka children, Lisa Pourier, Jessica Brown, Kasey Piper, Kylah Piper, Leah Richards and Angel Lakota, all of Rapid City; sister, Wilma Returns From Scout, Pine Ridge; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Donald was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Janis; wife, Nicholene Y. (Crazy Thunder) Osborne; son, William Little Whiteman; hunka mother, Mary Catches; hunka daughter, Dezy Martinez; sister, Carla Two Two; grandfather, Pete Catches, Sr.; nephew, Michael J. Benson; and grandchildren, Stephon James Big Crow, HeavenLee Rain Carpio, and Jessica Stands And Looks Back.
A two night wake service started at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 23, at the Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge.
Funeral services began at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 25, at the Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge, with Mr. Charles McGaa officiating and Mr. Peta Catches performing the traditional Lakota service.
Burial services were held at the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Pine Ridge.
