Alan Lynn Jack, Sr. “Zuya Wicasa”, 69, of Rapid City, S.D., passed away December 25, 2017, in Rapid City.
He was a veteran of the US Army.
Alan Lynn Jack, Sr. was born on June 18, 1948 in Pine Ridge, to Isadore Jack and Edith (Red Willow) Jack. Alan made his journey to the Spirit World on December 25, 2017 in Rapid City.
Alan is survived by his children, Billie Jean Skaggs, Ark., Arlo Jack, Okla., Bianca Jack, Pine Ridge, Chance Chief Eagle, Oglala, and Alan Jack, Jr. and Lawrence Jack, both of Parmelee; siblings, Patrick Jack, Wanblee, Martin Jack, Ariz., and Twila Sanchez, Albuquerque, N.M.; ten grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents, Isadore and Edith Jack; and brothers, Leslie Jack and Seymour Jack.
Visitation services were held from 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., Thursday, January 4, at the Eagle Nest CAP Office in Wanblee.
A one night wake service started at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, January 4, at the Crazy Horse School Commons Area in Wanblee.
Funeral services began at 12:00 p.m., Friday, January 5, at the Crazy Horse School Commons Area in Wanblee, with Father Ron Seminara officiating and Mr. Richard Moves Camp performed the traditional Lakota service.
Burial services were held at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Hisle.
