Geraldine American Horse-Lanz, 70, of Gordon, Neb. passed away January 14, 2018, in Gordon.
Gee was born on February 24, 1947, at home in Denby, where her father delivered her with her sisters looking on with amazement.
Gee is survived by her daughters, Cheryl (Michael) Calitri, Gordon, and Alice Jo (JR.) Schultz, Gothenburg, Neb.; son, Earl Forster, Gordon; sisters, Josephine Richards, Denby, and Alice (Tuffy) Sierra, Pine Ridge; brothers, Donald (Maxine) American Horse, Sr., Rushville, Eugene (Barbara) American Horse, Jr., Gordon, and George American Horse, Oakdale, LA; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Gee was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Dorothy (Bluebird) American Horse; brothers, Delbert Wayne American Horse, Burgess Bianas, and Bryan Blue Bird; daughter-in-law, Mica Forster; and significant other, William “Butch” Hanneman.
Visitation services were held from 1:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m., Saturday, January 20, at the Batesland School Gym in Batesland.
Funeral services began at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, January 20, at the Batesland School Gym in Batesland, with Catechist Ben Feather Earring officiating and Mr. Rickey Grey Grass performing the traditional Lakota service.
Cremation will follow services.
