Lolita Rose Mesteth “Wacin Umpi Win”, 34, of Rapid City, S.D., passed away April 8, 2018, in Rapid City.
Lolita Rose Mesteth was born on November 13, 1983, to Matthew Mesteth, Jr. and Brenda Mercado. Lolita made her journey to the Spirit World on April 8, 2018, at the Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City.
Lolita is survived by her mother, Brenda Mercado, Porcupine; stepfather, Manuel White Face, Porcupine; significant other, Jason Jake Brave Heart; children, Lola Gould, Audrina Brave Heart and Katerina Brave Heart, all of Rapid City; siblings, Arvene Comes Killing, Porcupine, Lola Mercado and Cindy Mesteth, both of Rapid City, Tamara Jon Mesteth, Tenn., Matthew Mesteth III, Porcupine, Blaine Kills Back, Porcupine, Mike Respects Nothing, Manderson, Timothy White Dress, Kyle, Misty Mesteth, Browning, Mont. and Leo Kills Back, Porcupine; special uncle, Donnie Mesteth, Sr.; special aunt, Lolita Sna Mani, Pine Ridge, and grandmother, Georgia Tail, Porcupine.
Lolita was preceded in death by her father, Matthew Mesteth, Jr.; children, 2 twin angels; grandparents, Cecelia White Dress-Frasier and Matthew Mesteth, Sr.; and uncles, Jeffrey Tail, Tyrone Mesteth, Dean Andrews and Terrance Mesteth and cousin, Eli Feather Earring.
A two night wake service started at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 12, at the Porcupine School Gym in Porcupine, with evening services at 7:00 p.m. each night of the wake services.
Funeral services began at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 14 at the Porcupine School Gym in Porcupine, with Sr. Catechist Ben Conquering Bear officiating and Mr. Wakinyan Sna Mani performing the traditional Lakota service.
Burial service were held at the St. Alban’s Episcopal Cemetery, Evergreen.
