William Cleveland-Eddie Eagle Heart, Sr., 89, of Kyle, S.D., passed away May 8, 2018, in Kyle.
He was a veteran of the US Army.
William Cleveland-Eddie Eagle Heart, Sr., was born on May 23, 1928, at home to Matthew Eagle Heart and Mabel (Thunder Bull) Eagle Heart. William made his journey to the Spirit World on May 8, 2018, at his home in Kyle.
William is survived by his spouse, Leona Eagle Heart, Kyle; children, Matthew Eagle Heart, Wilma Eagle Heart, Alton Eagle Heart, William Eagle Heart, Jr., and Curtis Eagle Heart all of Kyle, Carol Richards, Allen, Debra Johnson, Colorado Springs, Colo., Mabel Eagle Heart, Allen, Emmaline Eagle Heart, Eagle Butte, and Janet Eagle Heart, Martin; brother, Rev. Joe Brown Thunder, Kyle; 33 grandchildren, and 39 great-grandchildren.
William was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Mabel (Thunder Bull)Eagle Heart; sister, Victoria (Eagle Heart) Iron Cloud; one brother in infancy; half sister, Louise White; and granddaughter, Remedy Eagle Heart.
A one night wake service will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Eagle Heart Residence in Kyle, then moving to Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Kyle, at 3:00 p.m. with vigil services starting at 7:00 p.m. at the Church Hall on Thursday, May 17.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 18, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Hall in Kyle, with Reverend Cordelia Red Owl officiating and Mr. Bill Two Eagle performing the traditional Lakota services.
Burial services will be held at the Mediator Episcopal Cemetery, Kyle.
