Donna Lee Ducey of Cupertino, Calif. was born on June 8, 1933 in Martin, South Dakota to Glen Parlasca and Marguerite (Cook) Parlasca. She attended public school in Martin and received her MBA from Norte Dame de Namur University in Belmont, Ca. She professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined Sunnyvale Presbyterian Church where she was a dedicated member, served faithfully as a deacon, and was a member of Presbyterian Women’s Reed Circle.
She was united in holy matrimony to Gerald E. Ducey on April 24, 1951. This union was blessed with four children. Gerry preceded her in death on December 25, 2012.
She was an active bird lover, hiker, painter, fisherman, gardener, traveler, chef and caregiver. Because of her generous spirit and compassionate personality, she was loved by many. Donna Lee was one of the kindest people you could ever meet – she opened her heart and her home to many and she will be deeply missed. Her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. She peacefully departed this life Friday, December 28, 2018.
Donna Lee’s beautiful life will be cherished in the lives of her children: Terry (Barbara) Ducey of Sonora, Corrine Ducey of Felton, Sherrel (Gary) Morgan of Saratoga, Becky (Mark) Griffin of La Honda. Grandchildren Apryle, Julie, Sandra, Katy, Lauren, Kyle, Macey, Max, Kelly, Wendy, and ten great grandchildren; brother, Dr. Robert Parlasca of Reno, Nev., sister, Glen Doris Farrell of Medford, Ore.; and a host of devoted family, friends and caregivers.
A celebration of Donna Lee’s life will be held on January 11, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Sunnyvale Presbyterian Church. Donations in her honor may be made to the Audubon Society or a charity of your choice.
