Minerva Frances Blacksmith “Tokala Wawokiyepi Win,” 74, of Oglala, S.D. passed away on January 16, 2019 at Rapid City.
Minerva Frances Blacksmith was born on December 27, 1944 at home in Oglala to Asa Walks Out and Elizabeth Blacksmith. Minerva made her journey to the Spirit World on January 16 at the Regional Health Home Plus Hospice in Rapid City.
Minerva is survived by her siblings, Aurelia Two Crow and Norma Blacksmith, both of Oglala; daughter, Sonja Two Bulls, Red Shirt Table; son, Matt Two Bulls, III, Red Shirt Table; hunka children, Cindy Ross, Rapid City, Andrea Two Bulls, Red Shirt, Karolelyn Dix, Elko, Nev., and Shannon Thin Elk-Stevens, Spring Creek; grandchildren, Ana Alvarez, Red Shirt, Luis (Jayci) Alvarez, Tooele, Utah, Rachel (Gerrid) Two Bulls, Green Bay, Wisc., Gladys Roberts, South Jordon, Danea Jade and Billie Jo Rivetti, both of Draper, Shannon Muir, Sun City, Ariz., Kelsey Piper, Pine Ridge, Germine Barrios and Elizabeth (Dennis) Rodas, both of Green Bay, Jose (Felicia) Vasquez, Fresno, Calif., Lupe (Calvin) Sasse, Rapid City, David Two Bulls and James (Alexa) Arviso, both of Green Bay, Manny Arviso, Rapid City, Baby Rachel L. Two Bulls, Red Shirt Table, Aaron Sabori, Natalie Owhee, and Shoshanna Street, all of Oregon, Beejay Ward, Pine Ridge, and Delora (Dawson) Has No Horse, Gordon; and great grandchildren, Aiyana Alvarez, Tooele, Austin Kelly, Jr., Manderson, GerRaya Danforth, Green Bay, Hazel Limb, South Jordon, Jaydin Denny and Max Ramos, both of Green Bay, Catalina Rodas, Green Bay, Julian, Makayla, and Angelo Vasquez, all of Fresno, Eva, Sophia, Kenny, and Joseph Sasse, all of Rapid City, Kachina Walks Out, Emilo Walks Out, and Andrea Walks Out, all of Gordon; hunka sisters, Theresa Two Bulls, Oglala, and Mona Grey Bear, Dupree; and hunka brother, Larry Brewer, Rapid City.
Minerva was preceded in death by her parents, Asa Walks Out and Elizabeth Blacksmith; husband, Matthew Sylvester Two Bulls, II; daughters, Leslie Jean Two Bulls and Kimberly Kaye Two Bulls; grandchildren, Schecashlyn BJ Conway, and Gideon Moses Crazy Thunder; brothers, Albert Walks Out, Elda Walks Out, Floyd John Walks Out, Leonard Walks Out, Hermus Walks Out, Walter Walks Out, Frank Walks Out, Lucas Ten Fingers, and Charlie Donahue; and sister, Florence Cross Dog.
A one night wake service started at 1:30 p.m., Monday, January 21, at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala with evening services starting at 7:00 p.m.
Tokala Roll Call started at 11:00 p.m., Monday, January 21, at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala.
Funeral Services started at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 22 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala.
Officiating was Pastor Darren Purdy.
Traditional Lakota Services were officiated by Mr. Ivis Long Visitor.
Burial Services were held at the 7th Day Adventist Cemetery, Red Shirt Table.
