One Horn, Olivia

Olivia Rose One Horn “Oyate Ho Ye Wicakiya,” 66, of Kyle, S.D. passed away on February 9, 2019 at Martin.

Olivia Rose One Horn was born on July 2, 1952 in Pine Ridge to Bernard V. One Horn-Kills In Water and Dorene Inez (No Neck) One Horn-Kills In Water.  Olivia made her journey to the Spirit World on February 9 at the Bennett County Hospital in Martin.

Olivia is survived by her significant other, Eldon Frank Two Crow;  daughters, Roberta (Smokey) Whiting, Cora White Horse, and Madonna Bull Bear; sons, Leon Romero; grandchildren, Shannon (Cecil) Rose Whiting, Olivia (Leanne) Whiting, Adasia (Brenda) Bull Bear, Athan Bull Bear, Evelyn Blue Legs, Breeze One Horn, and Willy One Horn; siblings, Diane (Frank) Whiting, Samuel (Liz) One Horn, Bill (Justina) One Horn, Bruce (Mary) Kills In Water, Carmelita (Rodney) Mesteth, Shon Kills In Water, and sister-in-law, Delphine One Horn.

Olivia was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Dorene One Horn-Kills In Water; siblings, Luther Chris One Horn, Bernard Cleveland One Horn, Jr., Lollie Grace One Horn, and Perry Kills In Water; nieces and nephews, Tasha One Horn, Sophia One Horn, Gracie Kills In Water, Samantha One Horn, Danny Garcia, and Justin Spencer; grandchildren, Minor Vine One Horn and Tai Carson; hunka daughter, Katie Jumping Eagle; unci, Jessie No Neck; aunts, Mary Kills In Water, Bertha Grass Rope, Georgianne Has No Horse, Theresa Featherman, and Sophie Takes War Bonnet; uncles, Alvin Has No Horse, Harrison No Neck, and Melvin Kills In Water; and cousins, Louis One Horn, Edwin Kills In Water, Eric Kills In Water, Marty No Neck, Ray and Delores Takes War Bonnet, and Carlita Takes War Bonnet.  

Two night wake services started at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 14 at the Olivia One Horn Residence in Kyle and moved to Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Hall for an all-night wake service starting at 3:00 p.m. with evening services beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Services started at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 16 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Hall in Kyle.

Officiating were Father Harold Eagle Bull, Lay Minister Anthony Wounded Head, and Lay Reader Mona Vocu.

Burial Services were held at the One Horn Family Homestead, Kyle.

Arrangements entrusted with Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge.
