Santana Lee Richards-Trejo “Mato Paha Hoksila,” 24, of Rapid City, S.D. passed away on March 5, 2019 at Rapid City.
Santana Lee Trejo was born on March 27, 1994 in Gordon, Neb. to Raymond Trejo, Sr., and Lavina (Richards) Trejo. Santana made his journey to the Spirit World on March 5, 2019 in Rapid City.
Santana was a loving father to three daughters, MacKenzie and Lavina Trejo and Arabella Red Cloud, and two sons, Austin and Killian Trejo, all of Rapid City. Santana is survived by his children; his siblings, RaeAnne (Josue) Trejo, Allen, Renee Trejo of California, Ohinniyan Trejo, Oglala, Joseph White Face, Raymond (Opal) Trejo, Jr., Adam (Tara) Trejo, Sr. and Todd (Trisha) Trejo, all of Rapid City; his maternal grandmother, Sophia (Vincent) LaMont, Allen; grandparents, Doug Richards, Marvin and Jacky Richards, Bonnie Richard, Amanda “Carma” Fullen, Jim Richard, Sr., and Dale Richard; and hunka parents, Jerry Poor Bear, and Jimmy and Brenda Trejo.
Santana was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Sr. and Lavina Trejo; daughter, Baby Girl Poor Thunder; grandparents, Lupe and Melda Trejo; aunts, Delores Holy Eagle, Sandra Blue Bird, and Kedell Bell; uncles, Manuel, Lupe, Jr., Marcus and Richard Trejo; and grandfather, Raymond Richards.
Two night wake services started at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 9, at the Youth Center in Allen with prayer services at 7:00 p.m. each night.
Funeral Services started at 12:00 p.m., Monday, March 11, at the Youth Center in Allen.
Traditional Lakota Services were officiated by Mr. Steve DuBray.
Burial Services were held at the Native American Church Cemetery, Allen.
