Mable Lee Shangreau-Costello Obit

Mable Lee Shangreau-Costello, was born on May 5, 1951 in Alliance, Nebraska to Fredrick and Margret Shangreau.  Mabel, 68, of Rapid City, began her journey to the Spirit World on June 3, 2019 in Rapid City, SD.

Mable attended school in Martin, South Dakota at Saint Paul Indian Mission, “Marty Mission,” in addition to receiving her Chemical Dependency Counseling Certification from Project Phoenix.  Mable was a Sun Dancer, pipe carrier & spiritualist.  She loved her many relations, always reminding them she was thinking of them when she had to make a new facebook.  Spending time with her great grandsons was precious to her; playing at the park, singing along to the radio, attending school events, & sneaking them candy while their mom wasn’t looking.  She was a woman with an open-loving heart who always enjoyed good laughs and sharing memories with family and friends.  She will be loved and remembered by the many lives she’s touched.

Mable is survived by her husband, Gerard Costello; her brother and sisters, Thomas Shangreau, Leona Richards, Barbara Ann Smith, Geraldine Shangreaux & Rita Shangreau; her daughter, Nicole Whalen; granddaughter, Margerita “Mariia” Whalen; great-grandsons’ Maquel, Donovan, Adrian and baby Gabe; and many cousins, nieces, & nephews.

Mabel was preceded in death by her father & mother, William & Margret Shangreau; son, Richard “Billy” Beaupre; brother, Dugan Little Killer; and sister Delores Standing Soldier.
