Brenda Bernice Trottier, 78, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 1, 2019, in Casper, Wyo. Brenda was born June 14, 1941, in Gordon, Neb., to Bernard and Marie (Hammond) Emerick.
She grew up in Martin, S.D., graduated from Bennett County High School in 1959, and later obtained her bookkeeping certificate. Brenda married Gerald Trottier in 1965, and later moved to Glenrock, Wyo., in 1969. There, they made their home and raised five children. They later divorced but remained lifelong friends through the years, being there for their children and watching their grandchildren grow.
Brenda had a passion for bookkeeping and worked at the Glenrock Senior Citizens Center for more than 30 years. She also continued working into her retirement keeping books for the Glenrock Volunteer Fire Department. She loved spending time with family and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Brenda enjoyed cooking, baking, and crafting holiday and birthday gifts. Family and friends knew that you would never leave her house hungry or empty-handed!
Brenda is lovingly remembered by her children, Darrin (Debbie) Trottier, Wright, Wyo., Amy (Ron) Young, Glenrock, Shawn (Sarah) Trottier, Casper, and Jennifer Trottier, Glenrock; grandchildren, Tara Trottier, Shelby Trottier, Tyler Young, Breanna Young, Taylor Trottier, Jered Potter, Shane Trottier, Gabriel Potter, and Noah Potter; and great-grandchildren Cooper Trottier-Ortiz and Preston Benham; and brother, Jerry Emerick, Martin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and daughter, Michelle Trottier.
Services for Brenda will be at 2:00 p.m., September 6, at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Glenrock, with Father Robert L. Fox as celebrant, followed by a graveside service at Glenrock Cemetery. Luncheon will follow at the parish hall.
