Gary Harris, 71, of Casa Grande, Ariz., passed away August 5, 2019, after a lingering battle with COPD. He was born February 4, 1948, the oldest son of Donald and Irene Harris, of Martin, S.D. The family moved to California in the late 1950s.
In 1976, Gary married Debra Roberts. They lived in DeBary, Fla., for 12 years, where they owned a groundskeeping and landscaping company.
Four children were born to this union, Jeremy (Tammy) Harris, Tryon, Neb., John and friend Antonia Martinez, Sutherland, Neb., Melissa (Justin) Efird, Deland, Fla., and Amanda Harris, Port Orange, Fla.
In 2003, Gary married Vicki Troxel. He leaves to mourn, his wife, Vicki; his children; 13 grandchildren; brothers, Mike (Angela) Harris, Chadron, Neb., Steve Harris, Lexington, Neb.; sisters, Linda (Jim) Weaver, and Sandy (Bruce) Jones, Columbia, Mo., area; aunt, Jan Harris, Martin; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was especially grateful to his two best friends who helped right to the end, Bob LaSage, of Pennsylvania, and Brian Walsh, of Casa Grande.
Gary’s religious life, as a member of the Catholic Church, was his greatest joy, and he often referred to himself as “God’s Spoiled Child” in gratitude for all his blessings. His presence will be missed by Many.
