Patrick Gilbert Pumpkin Seed was born April 7, 1941, in Hay Springs, Neb., to Leroy Pumpkin Seed Sr. and Winona (Shott) Pumpkin Seed. Patrick, 78, made his journey to the Spirit World on October 11, 2019, at his home in Wounded Knee. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

Patrick is survived by his daughters, Winona (Chuck) Pumpkin Seed-Ross of Wounded Knee, SD and adopted daughter, Connie Ten Fingers of Oglala, SD; adopted son, Frank Jealous of Him of Wounded Knee, SD; grandchildren, Jonathan Ross, Duane Ross III, Davante Ross, Donte White Bear Claws, Leland White Bear Claws, Jessica (Jesus) Pumpkin Seed-Navarro, Cheley Yazzie, Jason Pumpkin Seed, Justina Bagola, Eliza Jo Chase Alone, Azaelia Chase Alone, Dwayne Chase Alone, Ryan Ross, Jon & Cassandra Ross, Larissa Ross, Tiana & Aiden Eagle Elk, Chelsea Ross, Brylee, Honest, & Susie Ross, Sidney Jealous of Him, Franklin Jealous of Him, Jr., and Darilyn Jealous of Him; step-children, Wesley Little Hawk, Diane Little Hawk, & Gary Little Hawk, Sr.; sisters, Sharon Respects Nothing, Beverly Running Bear, Phyllis Shott, Doris Respects Nothing, Geri Respects Nothing, Audrey Respects Nothing, Bernadine Rowland, Cleo LaDeaux, Tony Shott, Pete & Susie Turja, Deloris Turja, Gloria White Butterfly, Carol White Butterfly, and Rita White Butterfly; and special aunt, Georgianna Shott.

Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy, Sr. and Winona (Shott) Pumpkin Seed; daughter, Amanda Pumpkin Seed; and brother, Leroy Pumpkin Seed, Jr.

Funeral Services: 10:00 AM, Thursday, October 17, 2019 at the Tekakwitha Hall in Manderson, SD.
