Vernon Moves Camp

Vernon Moves Camp was born on August 18, 1954, in Ti Ska to James Moves Camp and Ellen (Winters) Moves Camp.  Vernon, 65, of Hisle, passed away peacefully at his home in Oglala, with his wife by his side on November 16, 2019. He was a veteran of the United States Marines.

Vern woke up every day, with thanks to Tunkasila for this beautiful day.  His loves include spending time with loved ones, family, and friends, fighting for the people by being a civil rights director for 20 plus years, and grass dancing.  He enjoyed having long talks with his kolas and going to Prairie Wind Casino.  Vern lived his life like the “Old Indian” with his heart as an akicita.  Every day he fought until he finished his walk on Unci Maka.
