Virginia Kills Crow Indian, “He Ska Win,” was born November 20, 1945, in Denver, Colo., to Aloysius Kills Crow Indian Sr. and Julia (Bird Head) Kills Crow Indian. Virginia, 74, of Porcupine, made her journey to the Spirit World on November 25, 2019, at the Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City.
Virginia is survived by her children, Denise Black Feather-Richards of Porcupine, SD, Andrette Spotted Elk of St. Francis, SD, Nancy White Eyes of Pine Ridge, SD, Andre Spotted Elk of St. Francis, SD, John High Hawk of Wounded Knee, SD and Allan Gorte of Illinois; adopted daughters, Dawna Rodriguez of Red Wing, MN and Kimimila Lopez of Porcupine, SD; sister, Rosemary Thunder Hawk of Porcupine, SD; niece, Jane Red Owl; nephew, Tim Red Owl; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Aloysius Kills Crow Indian, Sr. and Julia (Bird Head) Kills Crow Indian; husband, Ricardo Martel-Rodriguez; brothers, Larry, Aloysius, Jr., Mitchell Glenn and Val Ellis Kills Crow Indian; sister, Helen Kills Crow Indian; niece, Melody High Hawk-Kills Crow Indian; grandson, Trinity Brave Heart; and cousins, Carol Iron Rope-Herrera, Rita Little Boy, Edwin, Abel and Pete Iron Rope.
