Ronald Taylor Mousseaux Sr. was born May 19, 1956, in the Badlands of South Dakota in the back of a wagon to Taylor Mousseaux and Blanche Crane Pretty Voice. Ronald, 63, made his journey to the Spirit World on December 2, 2019 at his home in Pine Ridge.
Ronald was a funny and happy person to be around and was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He loved to listen to sundance music and to go to the sweat lodge to pray. He sundanced for 43 years. Ronald was a Denver Broncos fan and loved his bugler and coffee.
Ronald attended grade school at Wanblee Public School and graduated high school at Holy Rosary Mission in 1974. Ronald graduated from college at Piya Wiconi and worked as a custodian, Clinic Van Driver, worked on the Clinic construction, maintenance worker at Red Cloud School, Jailer at the Pine Ridge Jail, Security at the Cohen Home, and also worked at Cedar Pass in the Badlands.
Ronald, Sr. is survived by his children, Justin Mousseaux, Lydell Mousseaux, David (Miranda) Mousseaux, Ron Mousseaux, Jr., and Jackie Mousseaux; siblings, Marlys Richards, Phyllis DeSersa & Family and Kelly Winters & Family; grandchildren, David Mousseaux, Jr., Manuel Mousseaux, La Honna Mousseaux, Oliver Mousseaux, Ja Lissa Mousseaux, La Riah Mousseaux, Annie Walking, Taylor Ann Mousseaux, Obadiah Monroe Mousseaux, Ambrose Lucian Mousseaux, Austin James Mousseaux, Destin James Mousseaux, Austin & Kim Starr, Osheanna Mousseaux, and Blanche Mousseaux.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Taylor Mousseaux and Blanche Crane Pretty Voice; baby son, Matthew John Mousseaux; son, Jason Mousseaux; grandparents, Abraham Thomas Crane Pretty Voice and Josephine Morrison; grandson, Baby Mouseaux; sister, Earlene No Water; and uncles, Francis Crane Pretty Voice and Leon Bingham.
Pallbearers will be Chuck Reddy, Sam Long Black Cat, Calvin Red Elk, David Mousseaux, Jr., Lance Black Horn, Darryl Mills, Sr., Wohpilla Bad Hand, and Shane Mousseaux.
Honorary pallbearers will be West Yellow Bear Sundancers, All His Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, Uncles, Bro’s, Sundancers, & Boot Leggers.
Wake Services: Two night wake services with the first night starting at 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 7, 2019 at the Wakpamni CAP Office in Pine Ridge, SD and the second night starting at 1:00 PM, Sunday, December 8, 2019 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD.
Funeral Services: 1:00 PM, Monday, December 9, 2019 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD.
