Misty Rae Ghost, “Cante Waste Win”, was born May 4, 1975, in Rapid City S.D., to John Ghost and Betty Janis. Misty, 44, of Manderson, made her journey to the Spirit World on November 27, 2019, at the Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City.

Misty is survived by her mother, Betty Janis of Manderson, SD; daughters, Paulina Ghost of Denver, CO, Jeanette Jumping Eagle of Rapid City, SD, Angel Ghost and Ashley Bagola both of Manderson, SD; sons, Michael Lee Ghost of Manderson, SD and Philip Jumping Eagle III of Rapid City, SD; maternal grandmother, Norma Shield of Cleveland, OH; sisters, Twila Ghost of Manderson, SD, Michelle Twiss of Rapid City, SD, Claire Kelly of Manderson, SD, Fawn Irving of Rapid City, SD, Tonya Twiss of Rapid City, SD, Sherry Twiss of Manderson, SD, and Adrianne Black Elk of Rapid City, SD; brothers, John Lynn Ghost of Manderson, SD, Timothy Ghost and Sean Ghost, both of Rapid City, SD, Franklin Ghost of Oglala, SD, and Nicholas Black Elk of Allen, SD;grandchildren, Danielle Ghost, Mariana Cruz, Elias Olivas, Jordyn Bagola, Jasmine Aguilar, Leighton Waters, Jace Waters, Messiah Waters, and Aaliyah Brown Bull; aunts, Margaret JoAnn Tall-Flynn of Porcupine, SD, Mary Ann Janis of Oglala, SD, Ethleen Janis of Las Vegas, NV, Vina Roan Eagle of Spirit Lake, ND, and Norma Janis of Kyle, SD; and uncles, Earl Tall of Manderson, SD and Louie Janis of Pine Ridge, SD.

Misty was preceded in death by her father, John Ghost; brother, Ramone Twiss; uncle, George Tall; aunts, Beverly Janis, Arlene Janis, and Dawn Janis; maternal grandparents, Hermis Janis and Rachel Crow Janis; paternal grandparents, Vance Ghost and Martha Lula Two Bonnett; and great grandmother, Mary Shield-Tall.

Pallbearers will be Raymond Janis, Flint Tall, Wahacanka Tall, Stephanie Tall, Ben Rodriguez, Dave DeSersa, Ron Jumping Eagle, Jr., Arlene Jumping Eagle, and Hermis Janis.

Honorary pallbearers will be Starlette Jumping Eagle, Matthew Yellow Bull, Deloris Jumping Eagle, Candy Apple, Earlene Janis, Felipa DeLeon, Monique Mousseaux, Jerry Mousseaux, American Indian Movement, Oyuhpe Tokala Society, and All Friends & Relatives.

Wake Services: Two night wake services starting at 4:00 PM, Thursday, December 5, 2019 at the Wounded Knee District School in Manderson, SD with evening services starting at 7:00 PM each night.
