Vera Rose Kills Small was born July 24, 1979, in Pine Ridge, S.D., to Kerman Kills Small Sr. and Annette Crazy Thunder. Vera, 40, of Oglala, made her journey to the Spirit World on December 16, 2019, at the Pine Ridge I.H.S. Hospital in Pine Ridge.

Vera was preceded in death by mother, Vera “Unci” Good Lance; grandmother, Elizabeth Makes Him First; grandfathers, Cornelius Kills Small, Albert Brave, Sr., Samuel Brave, and Norman Crazy Thunder; aunt, Eldora “Smash” Kills Small; uncles, Francis “Punchy” Good Lance and Floyd Crazy Thunder; cousins, Alicia Janis, Elijah Blue Martin, Kelsey Good Lance, Geri Jane Plenty Arrows, and Judy Evans.

Pallbearers will be Kim Bad Heart Bull, Doyle Bad Heart Bull, Corwin Blacksmith, Fred Brings Him Back, Jr., Rob Brown, Derek “Big D” Yellow Cloud, Donald “Zondo” Brave, Brandon “Cheetos” Running Horse, Ambrose “Yamni” Belt, and Toby “Ampo” Long Soldier.

Wake Services: Two night wake services starting at 3:00 PM, Thursday, December 26, 2019 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD with evening services starting at 7:00 PM each night.
