Joseph “Joe” Ronald Morrisette, Sr. was born on September 23, 1951 in Pine Ridge, SD to Dawson Morrisette and Amanda (Mesteth) Morrisette. Joe, 68, of Wakpamni Lake-Batesland, SD, made his journey to the Spirit World January 3, 2020 at the Regional Health Home Plus Hospice in Rapid City, SD. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

Joe is survived by his wife, Debbie Blue Bird-Morrisette of Wakpamni Lake; children, Joe Morrisette, Jr. of Rosebud, SD, Vikki Eagle Bear Norris, SD, Vine Morrisette of Wakpamni Lake, Jen Morrisette of Batesland, SD, Joni Morrisette, #4 Community, William “Mesu” Morrisette and JoBeth Morrisette both of Wakpamni Lake; nieces, Lisa High Wolf- Ladeaux, Jeanne High Wolf, Robin High Wolf, and nephew, Clayton High Wolf Sr.; grandchildren, Koby & Moriah Morrisette, JayShaun and Ashlyn Morrisette, Cory, Jr., Calyse, Coryn, Caley, & Caleb Black Feather, Tokeya Mani Big Crow, Orren Provost, Ryker Provost, Tavis and Hunter Burbank, Calsee Has No Horse, Allison, JoJo, Dace, Skylar, Amanda, Christina, Donna, Verene, & Dre Morrisette; 11 great grandchildren; and nieces, & nephews.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Dawson and Amanda Morrisette; sister, Audrey Morrisette-High Wolf; grandchildren, Haley Morrisette, Vincent “Vinny” Brewer III, and Jamie High Wolf.
