Cornell Ruff Sr. was born June 4, 1962, in Pine Ridge, S.D., to Seth Ruff and Alice (Red Shirt) Ruff. Cornell, 57, made his journey to the Spirit World on January 16, 2020 at his home in Allen, SD.
Cornell is survived by his sons, Warlance (Trina) Ruff, Cornell (Cherish) Ruff, both of Allen, SD and Marcus Ruff of Lawrence KS; daughters, Collette Ruff, Felicia (Jay) Ruff, and Rosie (Ryan) Ruff, all of Martin SD; brother, Seth (Donna) Ruff, Jr. of Pittsburgh, PA; sisters, Sharlene May and Annabelle Black Bear, both of Martin, SD and Violet (Tim) Easter of Spokane, WA; grandkids, Shakoya, Tyler, Chance, TT, JoJo, Seth, Jaida, John John, Ailema, Yamni, Elora, Arayah, Matthew, Tatum, Ash-man, Cassidy, Orana, Micah, Gage, Alyssa, & Amara; great grandson, Gabe; and friend, Betty Peters.
Cornell was preceded in death by his parents, Seth, Sr. & Alice (Red Shirt) Ruff; brother, Larry Black Bear; sister, MaryAnn Nelson; son, Scotty Ruff; grandchildren, Warlance, Jr., Baby Boy Ruff and Baby Girl Ruff; great granddaughter, Phorah Rose; nephews, John Nelson, Lee Black Bear, Bryan May, Roy Black Bear, Sherwood Black Bear and Trevor Easter; niece, Lois Gotheridge; brothers-in-law, Richard Peters, Dick May and Bob Woodard; sister-in-law, Amelia Peters; and special friend, Clover Curry.
