Maxine June Mesteth was born October 26, 1980, in Pine Ridge, S.D., to Harlen Tapio and Christine Mesteth. Maxine, 39, of Manderson, made her journey to the Spirit World on January 18, 2020, at the Pine Ridge I.H.S. Hospital in Pine Ridge.
Maxine lived a long and happy life, a life that she lived to the fullest. Her life was devoted to loving her four children, Allen, Theresa, Lily, and Christian: and her loving dog, Joose. Max was always a hard worker; she loved her job helping others. Each patient held a special place in her heart. Loving, caring, and outgoing are the best ways to describe Max. She had the gift to bring laughter and joy to everyone that she knew. There was never a dull moment around her. Max loved to make memories with her loved ones. She loved attending concerts, rodeos ,and stock shows; which were one of her favorite events of the year. In her spare time, she loved to take road trips and sing along to all her favorite songs, country music especially. Singing and dancing were just two of Max’s many talents. Another great talent of hers was cooking, she always took pride in her awesome bread making (Fry Bread, Gabooboo Bread, and Yeast Rolls) skills. Anything Max cooked, was cooked with love. She loved to invite company over to eat dinner and visit. Max had such a beautiful soul; she loved all her family and friends whole heartedly. Anyone could always count on Max for help and support for just about anything. Max always looked out for everyone, and never left anyone out. Maxine was also known as, Mom, Momma Max, and Sister to a lot of people. Maxine will live on through loving memories and the hearts who knew and loved her.
