Roscoe Poor Bear

Roscoe Poor Bear, 68, of Allen, S.D., passed away October 4, 2012, in Tulia, Tex.

Survivors include his sons, Kevin Poor Bear, Pine Ridge, Walden Poor Bear, Sharps Corner, Albert Poor Bear, Sioux Falls, and George Poor Bear, Brownsville, Tex.; brother, Douglas Poor Bear, Allen; sisters, Darlene Poor Bear, Clara Rodriquez and Elaine Martinez, all of Allen; and numerous grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore Poor Bear and Julia Lone Wolf; wife, Mary Bettelyoun; sons, Bruce, Timothy, Gordon and Marvin Poor Bear; sisters, Angie Reyes, Myrtle Poor Bear and Rochelle Lone Wolf; and brothers, McArthur Poor Bear, Orville Whirlwind Horse and Willard Poor Bear.

 

Wake Services:  Two night wake services will begin at 5:00 PM, Thursday, October 11, 2012 at the American Horse School in Allen, SD

Funeral Services: 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the American Horse School in Allen, SD

Officiating:  Rev. Don Mink

Traditional Lakota Services: Mr. Quentin Red Bear and Mr. Justin Poor Bear 

Burial:  Allen Community Cemetery in Allen, SD
