Marvin Emil Pourier Jr. Obit

Marvin Emil Pourier Jr. was born August 3, 1959, in Rushville, Neb., to Marvin W. Pourier and Donna Mae Vocu. Marvin, 60, made his journey to the Spirit World on February 19, 2020, at his home in Scottsbluff. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

Marv was raised at Herd Camp, Pine Ridge, SD and attended grade school at Holy Rosary Mission and then at Marty Mission. Marv joined the United States Army and honorably served his country. Marv had numerous jobs in his lifetime, he was a police officer on the reservation for many years, he was a truck driver for 10 years, and attended culinary school to become a cook. Marv spent most summer at 3-mile Creek, usually on a horse. Marv had 7 children and numerous grandchildren. Marv enjoyed life, he had many friends, but his grandchildren were his life the last few months. He took care of them and spent most of his time with 2 of his daughters, his youngest son, and his grandchildren in Scottsbluff, NE.

Marvin is survived by his children, Tasheena Pourier of Scottsbluff, NE, Waylon Pourier, Johnny Pourier, and Rodney Pourier all of Rapid City, SD, Nikki Pourier of Denver, CO, Gretchen Pourier and Cinch Pourier both of Scottsbluff, NE: brother, Ron Pourier of Scottsbluff, NE: sister, Thomasene Pourier of Palmer, AK; aunt, Lorna Her Many Horses of Rosebud, SD: and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and one great-grandchild soon to be born.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin W. “Boy” Pourier and Donna Mae Vocu; brother, Rodney Pourier; sisters, Rose Cuny and Rita Flammond; and grandparents, Tom & Lucy (Giago) Vocu and Jimmy & Ethel (Pourier) Red Wing.

Pallbearers will be John Waters, Troy Brave, Nevada Brave, Michael Brave, Bailey Clifford, Dale Vocu, John Pourier, Edward “Eddie” Pourier, and Wade Vocu.

Honorary pallbearers will be all friends & relatives.

Wake Services: One night wake service starting at 4:00 PM, Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Hall in Kyle, SD with evening services starting at 7:00 PM.

Funeral Services: 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Hall in Kyle, SD
