Edward “Bugs” Franklin Bartlett, 61, of Wanblee, S.D., passed away April 21, 2020, in Rapid City.
Edward “Bugs” Franklin Bartlett was born on September 3, 1958, to Dora Brown and Rudolph Bartlett in Wanblee. Bugs made his journey to the Spirit World on April 21, 2020, at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City. He was a Veteran of the Army.
Bugs is survived by his mother, Dora Brown, Wanblee; brothers, Stanley (Sandra) Young, Sr., and Bill Lamont both of Wanblee; John Bartlett, Pierre; Clint and Steven Bartlett both of Eagle Butte; Leonard Bartlett, Sioux Falls; and Wade Bartlett, Rapid City; sisters, Linda (Henry) Yellow Elk, Wanblee, and Lorencia Bartlett, Rapid City; daughter, Taneal Randall, Wanblee; son, Daniel Lakota, Marty; and grandson, Kenan Zephier, Marty.
Bugs was preceded in death by his father, Rudolph Bartlett; grandmother, Jenny Richards; sisters, Valerie Lamont-Wooden Knife, Laurie Bartlett-Bowen, and Ruth Brown-Wright; nephew, Tyler Randall; and aunt, Rachel Richards-Long Pumpkin.
A one night wake service started at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, April 30, at the T&T Building in Wanblee.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 1, at the T&T Building in Wanblee, with Cyrus Black Elk officiating and Mr. Richard Moves Camp performing the traditional Lakota services.
Burial services were held at the Gethsemane Episcopal Cemetery, Wanblee.
