Dustin Lee Janis, “Batman,” 45, of Rapid City, S.D., passed away June 11, 2020, in Rapid City.
Dustin Lee Janis was born on January 12, 1975, in Rapid City, to Carroll Janis and Virginia (Richards) Janis. Dustin took his journey at this home in Rapid City, with his family by his side on June 11, 2020.
Dustin is survived by his mother, Virginia Richards Janis; brothers, Conan Janis and Richard Black Eyes; sisters, Violet Richards Lucero, Satin Janis, and Deserea Richards; sons, Carlos Janis, Dustin Janis, Jr., Kooleo Janis, Dalando Janis, and Rey Hernandez; his four legged son, Loko Bear; and all his nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
A three night wake service will be held, with the first night starting at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 17, at the Woyatan Lutheran Church in Rapid City. The second and third night will be held at the Conan Janis and Martinez Residence near Kyle, starting at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, June 18.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 20, at the Conan Janis and Martinez Residence near Kyle, with Paul Fiddler and Merle Left Hand Bull performing the traditional Lakota services.
Burial services will be held at the St. Barnabas Episcopal Cemetery in Kyle.
