Geraldine Yellow Horse, 87, of Rapid City, S.D., passed away July 20, 2020, in Rapid City.
Geraldine Yellow Horse was born on May 30, 1933, in Slim Buttes, to Alfred Yellow Horse, Sr. and Sophia (Bird Eagle) Yellow Horse. Geraldine made her journey to the Spirit World on July 20, 2020, at the Avantara Saint Cloud Assisted Living in Rapid City.
Geraldine is survived by her daughters, Hermania (Edward Clarke) Good Voice Flute and Monica (Michael “Tony”) Trueblood both of Rapid City; sons, Herman Good Voice Flute and Reginald Big Crow of Minneapolis, Minn.; grandchildren, Gage Clarke, Krishauna, Kelly, Kerra, Kiya, Karen, and KiAna Trueblood; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her daughter, Teresa Standing Bear; sons, Duane Good Voice Flute and Abraham Big Crow; parents, Alfred Yellow Horse, Sr. and Sophia (Bald Eagle) Yellow Horse; life long partner, Herman Good Voice Flute, Sr.; sisters, Dorothy Red Paint, Marie Marrow Bone, Irene Pipe On Head, Josephine Afraid of Bear, Darlene Kills Enemy, and Phyllis One Feather; and brothers, Alfred Yellow Horse, Jr. and James Yellow Horse.
Viewing services were held from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 28, at the Sioux Funeral Home in Pine Ridge.
Graveside services were held at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 28, at the St. Matthew’s Episcopal Cemetery in Slim Buttes, with Sister Barb Bogenschutz officiating.
