Wilson Yellow Boy, 73, of Martin, S.D., passed away September 17, 2020, in Martin.
Wilson Yellow Boy was born on March 13, 1946, in Pine Ridge to Adolph Yellow Boy and Lucy (Protector) Yellow Boy. Wilson made his journey to the Spirit World on September 17, at the Bennett County Nursing Home in Martin. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Wilson is survived by his son, Jonathan Yellow Boy-Black Elk, Pine Ridge; granddaughters, Mariah Black Elk, Minn. and Rolanda Black Elk, Wash.; grandson, Estephon Yellow Boy, Pine Ridge; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Wilson was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Lucy (Protector) Yellow Boy; sisters, Sophie “Hannah” Yellow Boy, Carol Jean Yellow Boy, Florence Little Brave-Yellow Boy, and Abigail Arapahoe-Yellow Boy; brothers, Eugene Yellow Boy, Levi Yellow Boy, Leo Yellow Boy, Everett Yellow Boy, and Richard Yellow Boy; and daughter, Maryann Yellow Boy-Randall.
Visitation services will be held from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Thursday, September 24, at the Sioux Funeral Home in Pine Ridge.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, September 24, at the Lakota Freedom Veterans Cemetery near Kyle, with Pastor Bill Quijas officiating and Mr. Floyd Running Hawk, Sr. performing the traditional Lakota services.
