Nancy Blue Legs, 73, of Rapid City, S.D., passed away October 12, 2020, in Rapid City.
Nancy Blue Legs was born on November 2, 1946, in Sand Creek to Thomas Blue Legs and Mattie Red Elk. Nancy made her journey to the Spirit World on October 12, 2020 at her home in Rapid City.
Nancy is survived by her daughters, Lorencia Bartlett and Alice Blue Legs both of Rapid City, Terrilee Milk and LeeAnn Bad Wound both of Martin, and Deana Milk, Rapid City; sons, Wade and Leonard Bartlett, and Craig Poor Thunder all of Rapid City, and Brian DuBray, Sr. of Martin; sister, Gertie Yankton, Wanblee; nieces, Teresa Gomez, Bonita Blue Legs, and Meredith Blue Legs; and 23 grandchildren.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Mattie (Red Elk) Blue Legs; son, Leon Blue Legs; daughter, Clara Milk-Marshall; grandsons, Milton Marshall and Steven Standing Bear; and granddaughter, Baby Girl Standing Bear.
A two night wake service was held with the first night starting at 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 19, at the T&T Center in Wanblee, and the second night starting at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 20, at the American Legion Hall in Martin.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 21, at the American Legion Hall in Martin, with Pastor John Poff officiating and Richard Moves Camp performing the traditional Lakota services.
Burial services will be held at the Lakota Chapel Cemetery in Martin.
